Eamon's career started at underage level with Broadford Rovers and St Josephs Boys in Sallynoggin. In 2000 he signed for English club Leicester City where he played with their two years at Leicester City, he played for their Youth and Reserve sides.

After two years he returned home following Leicester's relegation from the FA Premiership in 2002 and joined Bray Wanderers. He made his Bray debut on 18 October 2002 and scored the club's fastest ever hat-trick during nine hectic minutes against Dundalk in 2003. He was also capped at U20 and U21 levels for the Republic of Ireland.

Eamon spent a period on loan at Crewe Alexandra in 2004 and another at Norwegian side Aalesunds in 2005. But in the summer of 2006 he finally left Bray having scored 54 league goals in 106 league appearances.

In July 2006 he signed for Paul Doolin at Drogheda United and he was part of the Drogheda side that won the 2007 league title. He made 71 league appearances in three seasons with the Co Louth club, and scored 20 league goals.

In 2009 he signed for First Division Sporting Fingal and was part of the side that won that years FAI Cup while also winning promotion to the Premier Division. In two seasons with the Ravens he scored 21 league goals in 53 league appearances. Towards the end of 2010 Eamon was selected to play for the Libyan national side and in November he made his international debut against Niger.

When the 2010 season had concluded he considered offers from teams in the Libyan, Egyptian and Saudi Arabian leagues, but eventually signed with Derry City for the 2011 LoI season. It was a hugely successful year for Eamon as he started all 36 of Derry's league games and scored 22 league goals. He was also voted the PFAI's Player of the Year

On 23 December 2011 Eamon signed for Iranian side Persepolis where he scored a hattrick against Esteglal in front of 90.000 fans. He left Persepolis at the end of 2012 but remained in Iran, signing for Aluminium Hormozgan. Eamon's time in Iran came to an end in the spring of 2013 and in July of that year he signed fro Trevor Croly at Shamrock Rovers. His first game in Rovers colours was in a friendly against Birmingham City on 8 July but his competitive debut came four days later in a 2-1 win over Derry City at Tallaght Stadium. Eamon went on to score one league goal, against UCD, in just 8 league appearances though he did also play in Rovers' EA Cup and Leinster Senior Cup winning teams of 2013.

Eamon started the 2014 season at Shamrock Rovers, playing in fourteen league matches for the clubs, and adding another three goals to his account, before he was sent on loan to Sligo Rovers in August 2014. He fared much better at Sligo, scoring five goals in twelve appearances for the Bit O'Red, as they finished fifth in the table, just behind his parent club Shamrock Rovers.

In November 2014, Eamon signed for Sabah FA in Malayasia, whose General Manager, as in a Sporting Director type role, is George O'Callaghan.

In January 2018, Eamon parted ways with American side Indy Eleven in a bizarre twist due to an upheaval in American domestic football.
