Brendan’s Biography

Brendan played underage football at Shamrock Rovers and Dundalk before joining LSL side Ashtown Villa in 1996. He also played with Parkvilla, Moyle Park and Cherry Orchard over the following six seasons before making his League of Ireland debut for Dublin City in the 2001/02 season.

He spent four seasons with the Vikings making 34 league appearances before being released by new manager Roddy Collins in the summer of 2004. He then signed for Kildare County and made 11 appearances for them over the latter half of the '94 season, but returned to Dublin City for the 2005 season. Brendan was first-choice at the Vikings for much of that year, playing the bulk of Dublin's games including both legs of the promotion/relegation play-off victory over Shamrock Rovers.

However, he did not join City in the Premier Division, instead returning to Kildare County where he made 28 league appearances in 2006 before being released by them at the end of the season.

Brendan's next stop was LSL side Bangor Celtic and it was not until 2008 that he returned to league football when he signed for Mick Cooke at Monaghan United. He made 38 league appearances for the Mons over the following two years but left the club at the end of the 2010 season.

He then played with LSL side Lucan United before hanging up his boots and joining former boss Mick Cooke at Drogheda United as goalkeeping coach.
