Eddie’s Biography

Having played youth football with Foyle Harps Eddie was signed by Blackburn Rovers in 1997. He spent just one year at Ewood Park after which he returned home to sign for Derry City in the summer of 1998.

Eddie made his league debut for Derry away to Cork City on 6 September and made 26 appearances that season. In his time at Brandywell Eddie has won two FAI Cup winners medals and played alongside his brother Tommy in 2002 when Derry beat Shamrock Rovers at Tolka Park. He also played in the 4-3 win over St Patrick's Athletic at Lansdowne Road in 2006.

Eddie has also won four League Cup winners medals with the Candystripes and in his thirteen season with the club, up to the end of 2011, he had made 393 league appearances. At the end of July 2012 Eddie shocked Derry fans by making the first move of his career, signing for Irish League side Glenavon.

McCallion spent two seasons with Glenavon before signing for Bangor City in December of 2014. He retired at the conclusion of the 2014/15 season.
