Mark’s Biography

Mark originally came to Shelbourne on loan from Birmingham City in 1991 and was offered a long-term contract soon after by the Tolka Park outfit. He won his first league title with Shels in 1991/92 and followed that up with an FAI Cup win in 1993.

He returned to England at the end of the 92/93 season and spent a season with Shrewsbury Town, coming back to rejoin Shelbourne in 1994 and spending another four seasons at the club, a period that saw him win two more FAI Cup winners medals in 1996 and 1997.

In 1998 he had another spell at Shrewsbury Town, followed by two seasons at Newry City in the Irish League. Mark came back down south in 2001 to join Bohemians where he scored ten league goals in 53 league appearances. He was part of two league title winning teams in his three seasons at Dalymount Park and also added another FAI Cup win to his career tally.

In 2004 Mark crossed the city to sign for Shamrock Rovers where he spent two more seasons and in 2007 he pitched up at Richmond Park, signing for St Patrick's Athletic.

He spent one season with St Pats and then spent 2007 with Longford Town. At the start of 2008 he returned once again to Tolka Park where he signed up for a third spell at Shelbourne. At the end of '08, aged 36, Mark dropped down to the Leinster Senior League with Dublin Bus and four years later, aged 40, he competed for Lucan United in the 2012 FAI Cup. The following year, in 2012/13 Mark turned out for Cherry Orchard.

In 2016/17, and now in his mid-forties, Mark was playing with LSL side Lucan United.
