Ger’s Biography

Ger started his career at Geraldines in Limerick and won a contract at Glasgow Celtic in December 2006. He was at Parkhead for six months before returning to Geraldines in the summer of 2007.

In 2008 Ger was part of the UCD side that won the inaugural A Championship and he made his league debut for the Students on the opening day of the 2009 season when UCD beat Limerick FC 2-1 at Belfield. He went on to make a total of 26 league appearances over the next two seasons, sharing the goalkeeper's shirt with Billy Brennan. When Brennan left after the 2010 season, Ger became top dog at Belfield and made a further 29 league appearances in 2011.

Ger appeared in 9 of UCD's league matches in 2012 while 2013 saw him add 8 more league appearances to his career tally. New manager Aaron Callaghan took over in 2014 and Ger's contribution was limited to two outings in the league as an unused substitute as the Students were relegated from the Premier Division. He remained as the goalkeeping coach for the club for the 2015 season.
