Wayne’s Biography
Wayne started his League of Ireland career at Limerick in 2006 and made 7 league appearances before signing for Shamrock Rovers at the start of the 2007 season. he made his debut for the Hoops against UCD on 9 March but made just 6 appearances for the Dublin club before returning to his hometown, signing for Paul McGee at Limerick 37 in July.
Wayne went straight into McGee's side on his return and had played 15 times in the league by the end of the 2007 season. He remained a first team regular through 2008 and 2009 before leaving the club at the end of the 2009 season.
Wayne then signed for local side Pike Rovers where he played out the 2009/10 winter season but he was back in the League of Ireland, signing for Brendan Place at Athlone Town, in July 2010. He made just 6 league appearances for the midlands club and by September he had returned to Pike Rovers due to the pressures of traveling.
In June 2011 he returned for a second spell at Athlone, signing for new manager Mike Kerley but left Athlone a few months later having made 8 appearances and returned to Pike Rovers.
