John’s Biography

In January 2014 he turned out for Drogheda United during their pre-season preparations but he did not join Robbie Horgan's 2014 Premier Division squad. John joined Maynooth Town shortly afterwards but he was back in the hunt of League of Ireland football in 2015, playing with Cabinteely FC during their pre-season. He later joined the club for the team's first season as a League of Ireland club. He went on to make 24 appearances, scoring six goal on the way to Cabinteely finishing bottom of the First Division.

In November 2015, John moved to Longford Town in the Premier Division and went on to make 6 league appearances for the club, mainly from the substitutes bench, before playing in a friendly for Drogheda United against the MK Dons in July 2016. He joined the First Division club soon after where he made another 7 league appearances over the latter half of the season.

In December 2016 John signed for newly relegated Wexford Youths and he made his club debut away to Shelbourne in a Leinster Senior Cup tie on 17 February 2017. He made just 3 league appearances for Wexford as well as one appearance in the EA Cup before leaving Ferrycarrig Park at the end of April of that year.
