Hugh’s Biography

Hugh broke into the UCD first team towards the end of the 2011 season, making his league debut in a 5-4 win over Drogheda United at Belfield on September third 2011. Hugh made a total of 8 league appearances that year and became a regular in Martin Russell's first eleven in 2012, making 24 league appearances for the Students and scoring his first league goal, in a 3-1 win over Cork City at Belfield on 17 August 2012.

Hugh made another 24 league appearances in 2013. In 2014, under new manager Aaron Callaghan, Hugh played in 28 of UCD's 33 league games but it was a season that saw the Students relegated from the Premier Division and shortly before Christmas 2014 he signed for Alan Mathews at Bray Wanderers.

Hugh went on to make twenty-nine league appearances for the Seagulls in 2015, scoring late goals twice, in the 1-0 win over Drogheda United and the 2-2 draw with Shamrock Rovers. Bray finished eighth in the Premier Division that year and Hugh was named Young Player and Player of the Year by the supporters. In 2016 Hugh made 30 league appearances for Bray, scoring one goal.

In November 2016 Hugh re-signed with Bray ahead of the 2017 season. In January 2018, Hugh re-signed for Bray for the 2018 season. In December 2018, Hugh re-signed with Bray for the 2019 campaign.

In November 2019, Hugh signed with Drogheda United. He made 18 appearances for Drogheda in 2020 before signing back with the club for 2021. He left the Drogs at the end of 2021 and rejoined bray Wanderers for their 2022 First Division campaign.

In 2023 he joined Wexford.
