Sean’s Biography

Sean scored over 50 goals for Kilkenny side Evergreen in their 2010/11 season and signed for Waterford United, primarily to play in the club's U19 side, in the summer of 2011.

Sean soon made his league debut for Waterford United, coming on as a substitute against Mervue United on 22 July 2011, and he scored his first league goal in a 2-0 win over Wexford Youths at Ferrycarrig Park on 14 October. He made 8 league appearances for the Blues by the end of 2011 and added 24 more in 2012, joint-topping the First Division scoring charts with 13 league goals. This was enough to tempt EPL side West Ham United to sign Sean on a two and a half year deal in December 2012.

In February 2014 Sean returned to the LoI to sign on loan at Sligo Rovers. He went on to score once in eighteen league appearances before returning to West Ham. He went on loan to Accrington Stanley under Paul Cook and made thirty-three league appearances for the club, scoring seven goals and getting three assists. After returning from his loan away, Sean was released by West Ham and joined Dundalk in July 2015. He finished the season with six league appearances as Dundalk once more won the Premier Division title.

Sean joined Cork City ahead of the 2016 season and helped the club to a second place finish in the league, topping the goalscoring charts with 18, as well as scoring the winning goal in FAI Cup final in extra time against Dundalk.

In July of 2017, it was announced that Sean had signed for English Championship club Preston North End. He left City having scored 20 league goals - equalling Pat Morley's record for an entire season - and three Europa League goals.

In January 2023, after nearly six years at Preston, Sean signed for Coventry City but he left the Sky Blues in July of that year to join Carlisle United.
