Ryan’s Biography

Ryan played with Derry City's A Championship winning side of 2011 and made his debut for the senior team as a 116th minute substitute in the EA Sports Cup 1st round win over Salthill Devon on April 28th 2011. He also played in the quarter-final tie against UCD.

Ryan made 13 league appearances in 2012 and scored his first league goal in a 4-0 win over Dundalk at the Brandywell in October. He continued to get game time in 2013 though he made just 4 starts in the league, adding another 11 appearances as a substitute. He continued to make more appearances during the 2014 season, though again these were mostly coming from the bench, ending up playing in 21 league matches, scoring once in a 4-0 win over Limerick.

Ryan stayed with Derry City for the 2015 season and made a further 20 league appearances, scoring twice in the process, as the Candystripes finished seventh in the Premier Division but in December 2015 Ryan moved to Finn Harps. On the opening night of the 2016 season Ryan scored for Harps as they beat his former club Derry City 2-1 at Finn Park and he went on to net six league goals in 30 league appearances as Harps retained their Premier Division place with a tenth place finish.

In January 2017 Ryan left Harps to sign for Gavin Dykes at Ballinamallard United.
