Etanda’s Biography

Etanda was born in the Congo but is now a French citizen. He speaks fluent English and is studying economics at third level. No-one is quite sure how Etanda ended up at Salthill Devon, he just sort of showed up at pre-season training in 2011.

Having signed for Salthill Devon at the start of 2011 he made his league debut on the opening night of the league season at Fahy's field against Mervue United. He scored his first goal for the club two weeks later in a 1-1 home draw with Athlone Town and made 15 league appearances for the club before moving to Mervue United in the summer transfer window.

In August 2011 Etanda signed for Mervue United and debuted for the club against Finn Harps on 6 August, making 11 league appearances over the latter half of the season. His first league goal for Mervue came on 10 March 2012 in a 4-3 defeat away to Finn Harps and Etanda scored three times that year in 22 league appearances.

On 18 January 2013 Etanda signed for Tony Cousins at Longford Town. He made his debut for the club in a 5-0 win away to Salthill Devon on the opening night of the 2013 season and made 11 league appearances before leaving Longford at the end of the season.

Etanda only made nine appearances, many of which were from the bench, for Longford, as they went on to win the First Division title. However, he played his part as he came off the bench to score the winning goal in a 3-2 win over Waterford United at the start of the season. Etanda left Longford in November 2014.

Etanda's next spell in League of Ireland football came in 2017 when he signed for Athlone Town in August of that year. He stayed on into the 2018 season but left Athlone that summer.
