Stewart’s Biography

Stewart previously played at Greenock Morton in the Scottish league but was released in December 2010. He then spent a period on trial at Dundee United before signing for Derry City in February 2011.

He made his debut for the Candystripes on the opening night of the 2011 season in a 1-0 home defeat to Sligo Rovers, going on to make 33 league appearances as Stephen Kenny's newly promoted side finished third in the Premier Division.

Stewart signed for Glentoran in December 2011, but his stay at The Oval was brief and unhappy. He made just 3 appearances for the Glens at a time when results were poor and on 6 February 2012 Stuart's eighteen month contract was rescinded and he re-joined Derry City. He made a further 20 league appearances over the next season and a half, a period which included Derry's 2012 FAI Cup win against St Patrick's Athletic in which Stewart scored Derry's opening goal. Injury kept him sidelined for the final three months of the 2013 season and in December of that year he signed for Scottish side Stenhousemuir.
