Luke played with Peterborough United and Spalding United before signing for Welsh club Carmarthen Town where he spent three seasons. While with Carmarthen, the club were runners up in the 2004/05 Welsh Cup and winners of the 2004/05 League Cup.
During this time Luke came in contact with League of Ireland football, being in the Carmarthen side that defeated Longford Town 5-3 on aggregate in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Cup in 2005, before going on to play FC Copenhagen in the second round, losing 4-0 on aggregate.
Having parted company with Carmarthen at the end of the 2005/06 season, Luke signed for Athlone Town in January 2007. Luke then signed for midlands rivals Longford Town in 2008, where he made 37 appearances over the '08 season. H e was soon on the move again, signing for UCD at the start of 2009, but in July of that year he returned to Athlone Town where he played for the remainder of the season.
