The draw for the quarter finals of the Setanta Sports was made earlier tonight and has thrown up some great ties as the seeded teams (Crusaders, Derry City, Linfield and Sligo Rovers) enter the competition.

Holders Crusaders begin the defence of their title with a trip south against Cork City. Tommy Dunne’s men beat Danske Bank Premiership highflyers 4-0 last Monday night before drawing with “The Reds” 2-2 tonight in Solitude courtesy of goals by Daryl Horgan and Danny Furlong.

League of Ireland champions Sligo Rovers kick off their campaign against Glentoran and have home advantage for the first leg. The “Glens” made it through the first round with a 1-0 aggregate win over St Patrick's Athletic.

IFA Premiership Champions Linfield enter the fray with a tie against Trevor Croly’s Shamrock Rovers who narrowly avoided extratime tonight thanks to a late Ciaran Kilduff goal. The Hoops have home advantage for the first leg.

Derry City and Drogheda make up the only all League of Ireland tie after Drogheda made light work of Portadown tonight winning 5-0 to give them a huge 8-2 win on aggregate. The first leg will be in the Brandywell.
