Republic of Ireland underage head coach Paul Doolin has named his squad for the forthcoming Under 18 home based squad friendly against Wales at Ferrycarrig Park, Wexford on Wednesday, February 15. (Kick-off, 7.30pm).

The Irish boss picked his squad from the Inter-provincial games last year. The squad consists of some familiar faces, with Pierce Sweeney from Bray Wanderers, who was capped at Under 17 level making an appearance. Conor Driscoll from Avondale Utd and Jamie McGlynn from St. Patrick’s Athletic have both also been capped at Under 16 level.

Gareth Brady from Dundalk FC and brother of Hull City Striker, Robbie Brady will also hope for a place in the starting eleven. Gareth has previously been capped twice at Under 17 level by current club boss, Sean McCaffrey. Mervue Utd star Conor Shaughnessy, brother of Under 19 international Joe Shaughnessy, who featured heavily in the European Championship Squad from 2011 will also look to feature.

"This is my first year with the Under 18’s so I’m delighted to be involved with the squad", Doolin said. "It will also be my first home game since I became Head Coach back in September 2010, so I’m looking forward to working on home soil. The fixture is a great opportunity for the lads to shine. Hopefully the players will enjoy it and we get a great result in Wexford."
