Published: November 04, 2010
The PFAI today confirmed the appointment of Bohemian FC midfielder Paul Keegan as its new Chairman. He replaces Stephen Rice who had to step down due to his new employment with the FAI.

On his appointment Paul said “It is a tremendous honour to become the Chairman of the PFAI. I have firsthand experience of the difficulties facing the players nowadays, having faced problems at Leeds United, Drogheda United and now Bohemians. I know what an important role the Union plays in these situations and I’m delighted to be able to play my part.”

General Secretary Stephen McGuinness said “Paul is a model professional and one of the top players in the league. He is the ideal figure head for our Association and I look forward to working with him and the new committee in the year ahead.”

The new PFAI Management Committee is as follows:

Chairman – Paul Keegan (Bohemian FC)
Treasurer – Stephen Paisley (Shelbourne)
Dan Murray (Shamrock Rovers)
David McAllister (St Patrick’s Athletic)
Gary Twigg (Shamrock Rovers)
Eamon Zayed (Sporting Fingal)
Brian Gartland (Monaghan United)
David Freeman (Longford Town)
Liam Burns (Dundalk)
Ollie Cahill (Sporting Fingal)
