New Ireland lead sponsors ‘3’ are all about the giving as they offer prizes for the upcoming home game against Andorra at the Aviva Stadium. Discounted tickets and a proud Ireland mascot is what’s on offer.

The FAI along with new sponsors ‘3’ have announced a competition to allow one lucky child the opportunity to become an Ireland mascot for the European Championship qualifier between Rep of Ireland and Andorra on Tuesday, September 7th, 2010 – in the first competitive home game in the new Aviva Stadium. .

The winner of the competition will get the chance to lead out the boys in green, hand-in-hand, with captain Robbie Keane onto the pitch in front of thousands of Irish fans.

All entrants for the draw must be aged between 7-11 years of age. To nominate a mascot, visit www.three.ie and submit 50 words on why your nominated child would make a great mascot for the Irish National football team. The winner will be announced after the team training session on Monday, September 6th, and the prize will also include overnight accommodation and a new 3Pay phone from 3 for the nominator.

In a further effort to appeal to us good football folk, ‘3’ have announced a 33% reduction for their customers, when buying tickets to the game against Andorra. To receive the 33% discount, ‘3’ customers can text FAI to 51333 and will be sent a unique discount code. Once the code has been received, go to www.ticketmaster.ie and use the code to purchase the discounted tickets.

Commenting on the announcement, Elaine Carey, Sales and Marketing Director at ‘3’ said, “We are delighted to offer ‘3’ customers discounted ticketing for the Ireland vs Andorra International match on September the 7th. The discounted ticketing and mascot competition are the first of many new initiatives we will be rolling out over the coming months and years to support Irish soccer from the grass roots all the way to the senior National team.

“As the proud sponsor of the Irish National Football team, we wish Giovanni [Trapattoni] and his squad the best of luck for the upcoming matches and look forward to the winning mascot leading the team onto the pitch at the next home game.”

Nice chaps those people at ‘3’.
