Gallagher all set for Salthill clash

Finn Harps manager James Gallagher knows that there will be a certain amount of pressure on his team to win their first home game of the season, but he thinks that that can work in their favour.

Harps lost their opening game of the new First Division campaign after suffering a 3-2 defeat to Longford Town and even though that narrow loss still stings Gallagher is determined to get his side to bounce back.

There were a lot of positives to take from last Friday's game, although the focus should now be on collecting the three points that are on offer against Salthill Devon this week.

"After last weekend’s game, the lads are mad keen to get into the game to prove that they are better than last week’s result shows," said Gallagher.

"The result hurt a few of our players and you could see that in training this week. There is pressure on us to get a result on Friday – not just the fact that we lost our first game – there is always pressure on us at Finn Park to win our games, so nothing really changes on that front.

"We will, as always, approach the game in the right way and prepare well in training during the week."
