Tom King has become Sean Connor's first signing as Galway United manager after the youngster agreed terms on a one-year deal.

The highly-rated player plied his trade with Longford Town last season and had reportedly attracted the attention of various clubs.

Galway fans will be aware of him due to his excellent performance in the cup against them, where he helped set up the goal that sent the Premier Division side tumbling out of the competition.

The GMIT student will be hoping to establish himself as a first-team regular at Terryland Park over the coming months as Connor continues recruiting players ahead of the season kick-off.

Meanwhile, Cian McBrien and Jason Molloy have re-signed for the club and follow the example of Barry Ryan, Ciaran Foley, Jonathan Keane, Derek O'Brien and Alan Murphy in committing to The Tribesmen.
