Limerick FC striker Craig Curran’s future with the club is in doubt, following media reports that he is on the verge of leaving the club.
Curran joined Limerick initially on loan in February 2013. He signed a permanent deal until the end of the 2014 League of Ireland season after he was released by Rochdale last July.
However despite the ongoing speculation, Limerick have released a statement this evening, which says that Craig Curran is still a registered player with the club but state they cannot answer questions after seeking ‘legal opinion’.
The statement in full from Limerick’s official website reads as follows:
“Limerick Football Club are aware of supporter and media questions pertaining to the current status of Craig Curran and are keen to answer them, but at this juncture we feel we cannot do so having sought legal opinion.
As of this afternoon, Craig Curran is a registered Limerick FC player. As soon as the club is in a position to make a full and open statement, we will do so. In the meantime, the club is preparing for Friday night’s vital home match against high-flying Dundalk FC and we need your support.”
