Attendance of 1176 here in UCD. Fantastic crowd for a bank holiday Monday!

Interesting stat - Gary Rogers has his first goal kick of the game as the clock ticks into the 70th minute. Shows how strong Dundalk have been across the back four in this game so far limiting UCD to very little in terms of chances.

69'

Substitution

Jason McClelland replaces Sean McDonald for UCD.

67'

Hoban flashes a ball straight across the box trying to find Daniel Kelly but again the ball just edges past Kelly allowing UCD to clear

63'

Fantastic counter attack from Dundalk. Duffy picks the ball up in midfield and drives into the UCD half. He finds Hoban well and on his own to his right. Hoban attempts a shot at goal with Kearns saving well but palming the ball straight back out to the incoming Kelly. Kelly races onto the ball but the impressive Kearns recovers fantastically well to also deny Kelly

58'

Dundalk dangerous again. Sean Gannon plays a good ball through the middle trying to find Daniel Kelly in the box but Kelly can't get quite get to it

55'

Yellow Card

Patrick Hoban is booked for Dundalk.

51'

GOAL!

Michael Duffy scores for Dundalk. Fantastic piece of individual skill from Duffy. He collects the ball from McGrath in the box, turns brilliantly before nicking the ball past Kearns and slotting into an empty net. No less than Dundalk deserve and they lead 2-1 with 55 minutes gone.

49'

Fantastic individual run by Sean McDonald but the ball is nicked away from him and Dundalk clear

Daniel Kelly scuffs his shot towards goal but Kearns does welll to clear. McGrath did very well on the left wing before providing the cross

37'

Tobin out on the right wing attempts to swing a cross into the box but Chris Shields reads it perfectly and clears up the pitch.

Dundalk break quickly and Chris Shields seconds after clearing the danger in his own box is causing danger at the other end. The ball falls perfectly for him to fire a powerful shot at goal but Kearns pulls off a fantastic save

35'

Jamie McGrath with a huge chance for Dundalk curling his shot just wide of the post

33'

Gannon causing problems again with his roving runs down the right. He cuts inside and tries to find Hoban in the box but Daniel Tobin reads it well to clear.

Jarvis and Duffy link up well with Duffy almost finding Hoban but the ball is nicked off his toe by Tobin again

30'

Another great chance for Dundalk. The cross from Dean Jarvis finds its way all the way across to Sean Gannon on the right. Gannon unleashes a quick shot towards goal but Davis does very well to save at his feet

25'

Chance for Dundalk! - fantastic skill shown by Michael Duffy on the left delivering the ball right onto the head of Pat Hoban right in front of goal. Hoban connects well with the header but Davis makes a fantastic save and manages somehow to clear the ball away from danger

19'

Davis steals the ball back just in front of the Dundalk goal and causes panic for the Dundalk defence. He sprays the ball to the left of the box for Farrugia who drives low but Rogers gets out close to him to save well and deny UCD their second

17'

Fantastic pace in the opening fifteen minutes of this game. Dundalk playing some lovely football going forward and causing UCD problems with their intensity

15'

PENALTY SCORED!

Patrick Hoban scores for Dundalk from the penalty spot. Hat-trick hero from Friday night Daniel Kelly causes havoc down the right with his pace. Paul Doyle can't keep up with him and hauls him down to give the referee no choice but to award the penalty.

Hoban makes no mistake and hammers home the penalty to equalise minutes after UCD took the lead

10'

GOAL!

Yousef Mahdy scores for UCD. The students have the lead completely against the run of play

Great link up play between Sean McDonald and Conor Davis leads to a perfectly weighted ball through the centre for Mahdy who slots the ball past Rogers to put the home side 1-0 in front.

8'

Pat Hoban tries to make the most of a UCD mistake at the back by Gary O'Neill but the ball is nicked off his foot quickly before he can make much of an impact with it.

Panic stations for Kearns in the UCD goal. He attempts to clear the ball but a bobble takes it away from him and the ball just inches wide of the goal, a let off for UCD again

5'

Chris Shields drives forward and attempts to find Michael Duffy on the left but the pass is too heavy and the balll is out for a corner.

Duffy follows it up with a nice shot after cutting inside on the edge of the box.

Lots of pressure from the visitors.

GAME ON!

The game between UCD and Dundalk has kicked off.

0'

UCD and Dundalk have met in the past three campaigns in cup competitions. The Lilywhites have come out on top on all occasions by a one-goal margin.

The Student’s last win over the Oriel Park outfit came all the way back in 2013. The Belfield side’s last win at home to Dundalk came in 2011.

UCD have only achieved one clean sheet so far this season with defensive frailties costing Collie O’Neill’s side dearly at times.

They have already conceded nineteen goals so far, whereas they only coughed up 29 goals in 27 games on their way to the First Division title last term.
