A scare right at the end as Cork had a free kick on the edge of the Dundalk penalty area but it was scrambled clear and Neil Doyle blew his whistle to bring the game to its conclusion.

A titanic struggle between two heavyweights of the League of Ireland. It wasn't pretty at times but, in the end, it was the league champions who prevailed and completed the double!

Niall Newberry's excellent report will be online soon- from me Tom O'Connor it's oíche mhaith from the Aviva. Thanks for joining us here all season!

90' + 5'

FULL TIME!

The game has ended between Cork City and Dundalk.

90' + 5'

Yellow Card

Brian Gartland is booked for Dundalk.

90' + 2'

Alan Bennett with a wonderful sliding tackle denies Duffy as the winger shaped to make it 3-1. Superb!

90'

SAVE!!

Sadlier tees himself up 35 yards out, deflection and Rogers arches himself to tip the ball over the crossbar. Super stuff from the Meathman.

90'

Substitution

Dean Jarvis replaces Robbie Benson for Dundalk.

88'

Cork putting real pressure on here and Dundalk are grateful to Gary Rogers for diving on a loose ball following some aerial ping pong.

86'

Substitution

Daniel Cleary replaces Sean Gannon for Dundalk.

85'

Substitution

Cian Murphy replaces Conor McCormack for Cork City.

82'

Yellow Card

Alan Bennett is booked for Cork City.

Pushed Hoban in midfield.

80'

John Caulfield has used up his attacking options with the introduction of McNamee and Cummins. Sheppard has drifted to the right with Cummins the central striker and McNamee in the centre of the field. They're going long with a free kick which Rogers holds.

75'

Substitution

Graham Cummins replaces Jimmy Keohane for Cork City.

73'

GOAL!

Patrick McEleney scores for Dundalk.

Superb header following a Gannon cross. Great work by McGrath in the buildup!

69'

SAVE!

McNulty stops Hoban from rattling the net as Bennett miscued a clearance. Cork under the cosh here.

67'

Substitution

Barry McNamee replaces Gearóid Morrissey for Cork City.

64'

Neat footwork from Rogers sees the Meathman step inside Kehoane before launching the ball long. Cork seem content to play on the break now and look dangerous.

58'

SAVE!

Duffy lifted the ball into the box, Benson header and McNulty stood up big. Hooked clear by McLoughlin as the loose ball drifted towards Hoban.

58'

Substitution

Jamie McGrath replaces John Mountney for Dundalk.

56'

Dundalk are starting to press Cork back, though the Leesiders still look dangerous on the break. Dundalk are really being restricted as Jamie McGrath is ready to enter the fray.

51'

Cork have started this second half very much on the front foot and SHeppard nods a Sadlier corner wide in the first real chance of the second half.

49'

Shields fouls Keohane in midfield and we've another injury break as the two midfielders chat on the sideline awaiting the call to return to battle.

47'

30,412 here today to witness the 4th installment of this game. Decent crowd

46'

Second Half

The second half between Cork City and Dundalk has started.

45' + 3'

A pulsating opening to the half which settled down into a more familiar pattern once the goals were scored. We've been here before- both managers have given their teams these teamtalks. A more cagey second half is in store but we've enjoyed what we've seen so far!

45' + 3'

Half Time

It is half-time between Cork City and Dundalk.

45'

Keohane clatters Shields and Duffy drops the free kick into the penalty area. Hoare and Gartland go tumbling as 3 extra minutes are announced over the PA.

43'

Cork win a free down their right as Benson fouls McCorkamck. Both of Cork's full back have seen a decent amount of ball so far and Sean McLoughlin is demonstrating why all the hype is justified.

40'

Dundalk corner which Cork clear out for a throw and the Lilywhites attack down the right.

34'

Following the move, Buckley tested Gary Rogers' palms with a stinging drive. Sheppard is back up and moving.

34'

Yellow Card

Chris Shields is booked for Dundalk.

Sheppard and Shields tangled in midfield with the Dundalk man late.

33'

Yellow Card

Conor McCarthy is booked for Cork City.

29'

Great work by Benson as he plunders through the midfield and forces Cork to hack clear for a corner which they struggle to clear.

24'

Pat Hoban is prostrate on the grass having caught an accidental stray arm from Alan Bennett as the Cork defender headed the ball powerfully clear.

What a start we've had- 2 goals, 3 injury breaks and a pulsating cup final so far!

22'

OFF THE LINE!

Griffin saves Cork as Dundalk try to hit back immediately with a Gartland header.

22'

Never mind the borefest this was supposed to be- game on here at the Aviva!

21'

PENALTY SCORED!

Kieran Sadlier scores for Cork City from the penalty spot.

20'

PENALTY CORK!

Hoare bundles over Sheppard in the area.

19'

GOAL!

Sean Hoare scores for Dundalk.

Headed in a corner from Michael Duffy!

16'

Gartland is winning everything in the air so far here today as Cork try their luck down the left wing predominantly.

 Corner now from Sadlier.

14'

End to end stuff here as Buckley rampages down the left wing before his cross is cleared and Dundalk attempt to release Duffy down their own left.

Coming together between Gartland and Sadlier in the penalty area but a goal kick is awarded.

10'

Garry Buckley's turn for attention following an aerial collision in midfield with Chris Shields- nothing malicious but the Corkman is holding his shoulder and hoeading to the touchline. He should return though- and does so!

8'

Break in play as Shane Griffin receives some attention but he's back on and showing no lasting ill effects.

4'

Great work by Mountney down the right saw his overhit cross returned to him by Dane Massey but the Mayo midfielder could only directi his header wide.

Meanwhile Kieran Sadlier dances down the left wing and arcs a dangerous cross into the DUndalk penalty area but it drifts hamrlessly out of play for a throw in.

Early chink for Dundalk as Duffy hooked a cross into the Cork box which was scrambled clear by Bennett.

GAME ON!

The game between Cork City and Dundalk has kicked off.

0'

If that rendition of the National Anthem sets the tone we're in for an energetic display from both sides! Flare smoke clearing and we're nearly ready for the off!

0'

Here they come! The crowd get to their feet to welcome their heroes, all looking rather relaxed. The same won't be uttered in a few moments!

0'

We're almost ready for kick off here- the teams are yet to emerge as the last few souls head to their seats. It's not as cold up here in the clouds yet- it'll happen!

And we've just got the Cork team. The big news here is that Steven Beattie misses out completely with Graham Cummins on the bench.
