Midleton with there first real effort of the half as Kevin Kruschell disposses McCabe and drives forward but he doesn't catch his shot well and slices it wide.

Sean Heaney scores for Shamrock Rovers. A corner from Miele fell low to Heaney just inside the are, he took a touch with his right before unleashing a brilliant shot on the swivel with his left to find the back of the net.

Dean Clarke breaks through the Midleton defence and just has the keeper to beat which he does but unfortunately for the winger he also beats the wrong side of the post.

Dissapointing free kick from Miele as he fires it straight into the Midleton wall from a promising position.

Free kick on the corner of the box, laid off by Miele to McCabe but his shot is blocked and goes out for a corner.

Miele turns and beats his man just inside the circle, he drives forward and unleashes a shot from the edge of the area but Glehill holds on to it well.

Miele drives a shot from about 25 yards from goal but it goes just wide of the post. Gary McCabe does likewise just moments later but his effort has the same outcome.

Rovers knocking it around very nicely before McPhail plays it out right to Clarke. His cross gets deflected and has Gledhill scrambling but it hits the side netting and goes out for a corner.

The second half between Shamrock Rovers and Midleton has started.

It is half-time between Shamrock Rovers and Midleton. The home side really dominating the first 45 as expected, in particular McPhail conntrolling the game from the middle while Dean Clarke and Simon Madden started causing a lot more trouble down the right towards the end of the half. Midleton have done well to not be down more the one goal at the break.

Dean Clarke with another excellent cross from the right finds McCabe but he struggles to get much power on the strike and Gledhill can gather it.

McPhail once again with a brilliant pass over the top to Madden. The right full cuts it back for McCabe but his shot gets blocked.

McPhail plays a lovely ball over the top which Shaw just beats Gledhill to in the box, but the Midleton stopper stays big and blocks the shot.

Clarke plays a quick free kick to Madden and he whips the ball across. Shaw just misses it but is judged to have been offside anyway. Rovers starting to get more joy on this right side.

Stephen McPhail is booked for Shamrock Rovers. The Hoops skipper is the first to go in the book as he commits a late challenge on Jake Hegarty.

Gary Shaw was running with the ball towards the box but as it gets away from him Clarke decides to have a pop. They get in each others way and he slices his shot high and wide.

GOAL!

Gary Shaw scores for Shamrock Rovers. Dean Clarke held off the Midleton full back on the right, before playing a brilliant cross with his weaker left foot straight to Shaw's head which he heads home comfortably from six yards!

Rovers knocking the ball around the edge of the box before Miele creates a yard for himself and curls a shot heading fot the top corner, only for a great save by Midleton keeper Matthew Gledhill to keep it level.

Dean Clarke clips the ball over to Madden on the right flank, he drills it across but only hits a Midleton defender.

Midleton with their first sight of goal. Dan Murray picked it up from a corner before playing a dangerous ball across the face of goal but there was nobody there for the Cork side and Simon Madden knocked it behind for another corner.

Pat Fenlon has made three changes to the Rovers side that were beaten by Wexford last Friday. David O' Connor, Sean Heaney and Stephen McPhail all come in for David Webster, Gavin Brennan and Killian Brennan.
