Updates by

90' + 4'

That's it from me. Thanks for joining me for my match updates for this cup tie. There is lots of football on during the week including friendlies for Shels and UCD so if you get a chance make sure you check out those games.

90' + 3'

FULL TIME!

Thats it from Dalymount Park as Derry advance into the semi finals of the EA Sports Cup. Derry were far the better in the second half and it is easy to see why there is such as gap in these two teams league positions. Callaghan and his staff must now turn their attentions to trying to keep Bohs in the league while Derry will focus on trying to catch Pats.

90' + 1'

As so often happens Michael Duffy manages to break away and score in injury time to cement Derry's victory. Bohs were forced to push everyone forward which meant when the ball was cleared Duffy simply had the easy job of running from the half way line and slotting the ball home from 12 yards.

90' + 1'

GOAL!

Michael Duffy scores for Derry City.

90'

Bohs are camped on the edge of the Derry City penalty area as the fourth official adds on three minutes.

87'

Substitution

Michael Scott replaces Chris Lyons for Bohemians.

86'

Since the goal Derry seem to have decided to sit back and try and defend this lead. The question now is will they regret that decidsion as Bohs prepare to bring on Michael Scott.

82'

Derry finally get the goal that their dominance has deserved as Barry McNamee is left alone in yards of space. He simply slides the ball wide to Michael Duffy who calmly puts the ball underneath the oncoming Greg Murray. Bohs are going to have to throw everything at Derry now in order to force extratime.

82'

GOAL!

Michael Duffy scores for Derry City.

80'

Shane McEleney's long throws continue to cause issues for Bohs as we head into the final ten minutes of this game. Rafter, Duffy and McNamee have all gone close to scoring by getting on the end of this Rory Delap like throw.

75'

SO CLOSE. It was very nearly a case of super sub for Reynor who vollied a cross field ball superbly but it just managed to creep wide of the far post. It has however managed to spark the Bohs supporters to life.

73'

Michael Duffy goes so close to providing the assist for a Rafter opening goal. Duffy who continues to cause issues down the left hand channel made his way all the way into the box and fed Rafter who scoops his shot up and over Greg Murray's crossbar.

70'

The Bohs support have had little to cheer about this half and both sets of supporters have gone quiet for the time being anyway. A free kick that was wipped in by Kevin Deery fails to connect with it's intended target in Ryan McBride. Bohs have continuted to struggle to keep the ball when they do have it. At the moment I can only see one out come for this game and that is an away win.

65'

A Bohs fast break goes oh so close to giveing the home side the lead. It was David Scully who got control of the ball on the half way line to release subsitute Darragh Reynor on the wing. The winger then took his time to deliver the return pass to Scully who just couldnt direct his header goalwards. A serious let off for Derry there.

62'

Substitution

Darragh Reynor replaces Santiago Falbo for Bohemians.

61'

The Bohs supporters once again getting on Paul McLaughlin's back here in Dalymount Park. This time it was because they felt Chris Lyons should have been awarded a free kick after running into Kevin Deery. Santiago Falbo is the man currently down on the ground with the physio. It is like Wimbeldon with the amount of injuries being picked up here today as he looks set to be replaced.

59'

Michael Duffy has come out in the second half looking like a man on a mission as he beats Michael baker in the Bohs defence but his cross is poor. McNamee was the man arriving for Derry but the cross was behind him and Bohs once again have managed to clear. Derry completely on top at the moment.

56'

Substitution

Paddy Kavanagh replaces Mark Griffin for Derry City.

53'

A corner has been awarded to Derry after Kevin Derry took it upon himself to run the length of the pitch from the right back position only to see his cross blocked down. The corner once again comes to nothing and is easily dealt with by Lopes. Derry will have to improve their crossing if they hope to win this match.

48'

A free kick awarded to the right of the penalty area for the home team ends in a poorly hit effort by Patrick McEleney allowing for Greg Murray to claim with ease. The second half has started with Derry having all the ball and looking dangerous.

46'

Second Half

The second half between Bohemians and Derry City has started.

45' + 2'

Half Time

Thats it for the first half as referee Paul McLaughlin brings the action to a close. While there hasn't been goals or a host of chances to talk about so far we have had two substitutions due to injury and three yellow cards. Derry have looked like the better side with Michael Rafter having two very good chances to open the scoring. For the home team however it has been all about Karl Moore who has caused Derry all sorts of problems on the right hand side.

45'

Yellow Card

Kevin Deery is booked for Derry City.

44'

Yellow Card

Santiago Falbo is booked for Bohemians.

43'

Some nice link up play from Keith Buckley and Chris Lyons led to a shot from Ryan McEvoy which was blocked down by Shane McEleney and out fro a corner. The corner however came to nothing as Gerard Doherty came and claimed the cross.

39'

Michael Duffy has just hit the bar after some poor play in the Bohs defence where they failed to clear yet again. The only thing that kept the ball from entering the net on this occasion was the finger nail of Greg Murray. Derry looking like they are the more clinical side in front of goal at the moment but we still await the first goal from this quarter final.

35'

Michael Rafter with a great chance to give the Candystripes the lead. I have a feeling the referee would not have been a popular man had the ball nestled into the net as the home support felt Rafter took the ball down with his hand. The ref failed to blow and Rafter very nearly snook the ball past Greg Murray who managed to get down quickly, keeping the game scoreless in the process.

34'

Two substitutions have already been made in the first half which neither manager will be overly happy with seeing as this game could well go for the full 120 minutes.

31'

Substitution

Zein Albehadlie replaces Ciaran Nangle for Bohemians.

28'

Nice play from Michael Rafter should have led to a Barry McNamee chance but the midfielder was too slow to pull the trigger. Rafter dinked the ball over Lopes for McNamee who ended up letting the ball get tangled up with Michael Barker which gave the Bohs rearguard a chance to clear the ball to safety.

26'

Karl Moore is looking particularly menacing down the right hand side as he forced Shane McEleney to concede a throw in. If Bohs are going to score it will be from the former Manchester City youth players' cross.

21'

Bohemians are enjoying a spell of good possession which culminated in a Karl Moore run along the right hand touch line. His cross was dealt with comfortably by Doherty in the Derry City goal. Bohs are really struggling at the moment to get the numbers they need into the box for these well placed crosses they are delivering.

18'

Rafter sees his chance go high and wide although it wasnt a million miles away. He recieved the ball from a quickly taken Michawel Duffy throw in and just let fly. Both teams seem to just be testing each others defence out thus far.

14'

Yellow Card

Mark Griffin is booked for Derry City.

13'

Substitution

Kevin Deery replaces Sean Houston for Derry City.

10'

The ref has stopped the game momentarily while Sean Houston recieves treatment in the middle of the pitch. It seems to be nothing more than a bang to his calf that the physio is treating him for. He should be alright to continue as he gets back to his feet.

7'

Falbo just missed a great opportunity to put Bohs one up when he got on the end of a through ball from Karl Moore. Unfortunately for the home crowd Steward Greacen stood his ground and didn't allow Falbo to get the ball out of his feet and blocking the shot in the process.

6'

Michael Rafter is causing some issues for the Bohs defence early on. He is making sure that the home defence is being closed down and been allowed no time on the ball. Derry City have had most of the early possession so far.

3'

Santiago Falbo just had the home sides first chance of the game but he snatched at his shot and the ball sailed harmlessly over Gerard Doherty's goal. The chance was created by a poor touch by Patrick McEleney in the heart of the Derry midfield.

1'

GAME ON!

The game between Bohemians and Derry City has kicked off.

0'

Ten minutes to kick off here in Dalymount Park. The teams have just finished there warm ups and have retreated to the comfort of the Dressing rooms for their final instructions.

0'

The teams should be at the side of your screens now. I suspect that Bohs will play with just a lone striker in Chris Lyons. The other news from the home dressing room is that Santiago Falbo is in line to make his first start of the season. Derry are expected to play with the more conventional two front man partnership led by Mark Griffen. This game is of course a cup game which means that should we remain level after the ninety minutes have elapsed then we will be going to extratime with the possibility of penalities after that.
