111'

Christy Fagan's effort sums up Pats tonight, great build up play, great chances but shocking in front of goal.

107'

Enda Curran had the ball at his feet, the goal at his mercy but the young forward saw the headlines and just could not get it out of his feet before he was smothered up by O'Malley in the Pats goal.

FULL TIME!

The game has ended between Galway United FC and St. Patrick's Ath.

90' + 1'

Substitution

Jamie McGrath replaces Killian Brennan for St. Patrick's Ath.

89'

Brilliant defending from Sean Hoare. Two fantastic tackles on Stephen Walsh and Ryan Connolly in quick succession.

88'

Yellow Card

Greg Bolger is booked for St. Patrick's Ath.

82'

He takes some flack, but Conor Winn is in line for the Man of the Match award. The former Mervue United player has really come of age tonight.

80'

With ten minutes remaining, St. Pats are shading it but the result could go either way. Galway need to be a bit more composed on the ball. Pats are playing most of the football in the United half.

78'

From the weird to the outrageous. James Chambers has just lashed a strike from out on the right wing, about 40 yards out. It dipped and sweved and, from where this reporter is sitting, was destined for the top corner. Conor Winn made a miraculous save to deny Chambers. Still deadlocked at the Corrib river venue.

72'

Substitution

Stephen Walsh replaces Jason Molloy for Galway United FC.

70'

Keegan, followed by Curran, have shots saved and blocked respectively.

68'

What a weird patch of football. Dangerous free kick from Pats wasn't dealth with by Galway defense as Pats' players were allowed to attempt shot after shot, but it finally went wide. How and why United gave Pats so much space and time is beyond comprehension.

66'

Substitution

Christy Fagan replaces Morgan Langley for St. Patrick's Ath.

64'

Enda Curran has made Conor O' Malley work for his wages there. Curran's free-kick from all of 35 yards was destined for the top corner but the reserve keepr was equal to it. What an effort and what a save.

62'

Pats have come very close to taking the lead. A cross from Lee Desmond was met by the head of Byrne but
Winn parried, and caught the loose ball, despite Langley being on the prowl. Great game now.

59'

Pats' Kenny Browne gets his head in the way of a Paul Sinnot strike. From the resulting corner, Jason Molloy tries to bend one into the top corner from the edge of the area but it narrowly goes wide. the winger has the ability to net them from range. Great second half so far.

54'

Oji again with a defensive header in his own six yard box. Ball is cleared away and Keegan wins a free up the field for Galway. A minor resbite for the Tribesmen.

53'

Sam Oji prevent Pats from taking the lead. The visitors are pilling on the pressure and are looking to dominate these opening exchanges.

51'

Enda Curran has thrown away a chance for Galway. The striker found himself alone in the penalty area but failed to control Marc Ludden's pass. Pats' Conan Byrne has just seen his effort ping back off the post and wide. Game is picking up pace.

46'

Second Half

The second half between Galway United FC and St. Patrick's Ath has started.

45' + 1'

Half Time

It is half-time between Galway United FC and St. Patrick's Ath. A half with little or no chaces for either team. Neither keeper has been really tested, bar a snap shot ehre and there. It's nervy, it's tense, it's cup final football!!

45' + 1'

Just one minute of additional time.

44'

Lee Desmond with a sweetly struck left footed effrot. Blazes wide past Winn in the Galway goal.  It's still tense and nervy here !

41'

Bolger with a howler of an effort from six yards out. The midfielder did well to make space but his left footed effort went for a throw in. He won't want to see that in a hurry.

34'

Jake Keegan had a great chance from a Jason Molloy cross, but his header went over the bar. He's actaully offside so wouldn't have counted.

32'

Langley has his shot brilliantly blocked by killian Cantwell. The young defender had to make that block 14 yards from the homs goal. Game is beginning to come alive down in Galway.

30'

Galway's first clear cut chance of the game. Marc Ludden's run and deep cross almost found the head of Enda Curran. 30 minutes gone, but this game could yet be a classic.

27'

The home side stringing a few passes together. They need something to spark this partisan crowd into life. Pats have brough a sizeable away contingent, as you'd expect.

23'

Saints are hitting diagonal balls over the top of United's defense which is causing the problems. The Dublin side now enjoying lots of possession.

19'

John Bolger gets his strike on target but Winn saves. The warning signs are there for Galway. The Tribesmen need to get possession, far too deep in their half. St. Pats growing as the game progresses.

16'

Pats come close. Conan Bynre's cross come shot was parried by Conor Winn in the Galway goal, into the path of Morgan Langley. The ball didn't fall kindly for the Saints' striker however.

15'

Space in the middle of the park is at a premium and so not much is being created by either side.

9'

Not many clear chances yet, it's evenly matched. Both teams should be looking to settle in the next five minutes.

6'

First set piece Galway have had to defend. Killian Brenna with an inswinging free-kick but Marc Ludden has header clear. Without Stephan Walsh at the rock of defense tonight, Galway need an aerial presence in there.

3'

A very bright opening to the game. Both sets of team's are up for this and Eamonn Deacy Park is filled almost to capacity.
