FULL TIME!

And it is all over here in Richmond Park where Pats have run out easy winners in the end. They progress on to the third round of the cup scoring four goals in the process but they will likely still be wondering how they didnt go and add many more. Thanks for following my live updates this afternoon. I shall be along later tongiht with a match report!

90' + 1'

It jus is not going to happen for Fagan today as he fires over again right at the death. Birmingham makes a good run across the box before puting it on a plate for Fagan but he snatches at the chance. He will have to wait abnother day to get that hat-trick.

89'

Yellow Card

Cillian Morrison is booked for U.C.D.

87'

The Ford FAI Cup Man Of The Match has just been announced and it has gone to Christy Fagan although he should have had about five goals by now. Pats seem content to just keep the ball now for the last few minutes.

84'

The ball is given away cheaply by Benson leading to Bolger releasing Fagan for Pats on the left by he narrowly curls his shot wide of target. He is getting closer to his hatrick but maybe it just isnt meant to be!

80'

Substitution

Conan Byrne replaces Sean Gannon for St. Patrick's Ath.

79'

Subsitute James Kavanagh loses the ball to Forrester who plays it to Byrne who simpily plays it across the area only for Matthews to bundle the ball into his own goal. Things are going for bad to worse for UCD

79'

OWN GOAL!

Gareth Matthews has put the ball in his own net!

76'

Substitution

James Kavanagh replaces David O'Connor for U.C.D.

74'

Its a case of all bodies back for UCD now as they throw themselves at Fagan, Forrestor, Kelly and Byrne who all attempted to get shots off. Great defending but the midfield is where the college is losing this game. The rain starting to bucket down here in Dublin. UCD look set to use their final subsitution in the form of James Kavanagh.

71'

A good run down the right side by Ger O'Bren resulted in a cross finding Fagan who saw his shot once again  blocked before the ball was cleared behing by Douglas despite shouts for hand ball from the home crowd.

69'

Pats nearly added a fourth as first Byrne had his effort blocked by UCD captian David O'Connor and then Fagan got the ball, turned but could only scuff his shot wide of the far post with O'Donnell stranded in the UCD goal.

67'

Double subsitution there from Liam Buckley as he turns his attention back to the upcoming league games. He will be happy with his sides performance so far today as they continued there recent league form in the cup

66'

Substitution

Jake Carroll replaces Killian Brennan for St. Patrick's Ath.

66'

Substitution

Aidan Price replaces Kenny Browne for St. Patrick's Ath.

62'

A howler from UCD centre back Thomas Boyle as he is dispossed by Jake Kelly on the edge of the box. Kelly then procedes to cooly and calmly slot the ball past Conor O'Donnell to put the saints three goals to the good.

62'

GOAL!

Jake Kelly scores for St. Patrick's Ath.

59'

Fantastic run by Killian Brennan as he uses a variety of stepovers to go past three UCD defenders only for his shot to be smothered by the on rushing O'Donnell. Pats continueing to enjoy the lions share of possesion. The cup journey may well end for UCD in the second round.

57'

Ian Birmingham demonstrates why he is a defender. A short corner by Pats falls to the ex-UCD man on the edge of the box and he hits the ball high over the bar and out of the ground.

52'

Christy Fagan doubles his own and also St Pats lead with a great strike from just outside the box that even O'Donnell at full stretch couldn't stop it nestling into the top corner of the net. Great Goal after UCD gave the ball away sloppily again in midfield.

52'

GOAL!

Christy Fagan scores for St. Patrick's Ath.

50'

David O'Connor manages to save UCD as his outstretched leg blocks Conan Byrnes effort inside the six yard box after Forrester was once again allowed to turn inside the box. Pats have once again started the stronger of these two Dublin clubs

47'

Martin Russell has decided to change things up in the second half although he has left McMillian up front by himself. A heavy touch by O'Donnell in the UCD goal nearly lets Fagan in once again but the UCD keeper manages to clear in the knick of time.

46'

Substitution

Cillian Morrison replaces Dean Clarke for U.C.D.

46'

Substitution

Robert Creevy replaces Craig Walsh for U.C.D.

46'

Second Half

The second half between St. Patrick's Ath and U.C.D has started.

45' + 1'

Half Time

A Christy Fagan goal is all that seperates the sides here in Richmond Park. Both sides still well in this cup tie but Pats have been far the better side in the first half

45' + 1'

UCD win a free kick on the right hand side after McMillian is brought down. Benson's free kick however is easily dealt with by the Pats defence who have had a boring first half. We are in added time now as the ref glances down to his watch.

44'

The free kick is superbly struck by Conan Byrne but it is still not good enought to beat Conor O'Donnell who dives high to his left to stop a certain goal as we approach half time here.

43'

Somehow the ball has stayed out as Fargan, Forrester and Brennan all have efforts superbly saved by O'Donnell before a foul is commited by UCD midfielder Craig Walsh with Pats now having a free on the edge of box about twenty yards out. Great position with Byrne standing over it.

41'

The home crowd beggining to become furstated as good play from Forrestor in the centre of the park sees the ball treaded through to Fagan but once again he snatches at it as his shot goes way over the bar. Pats really should be two or three goals to the good by now. UCD appear to just be trying to hold out for half time here.

39'

It has been all Pats since the goal as a ball in from Brennan sees Conor O'Donnell flap at the cross but it also misses everyone elses as Tomas Boyle comes across the clear the ball for the visitors.

37'

The resulting free kick sees Fagan once again go very close as the ball was played in Bolger at the back post plays in back across goal but Fagan gets to much on it and scoops his shot high over the coss bar from just to the left of the penalty spot

37'

Yellow Card

Gareth Matthews is booked for U.C.D.

35'

Fagan nearly scores his and Pats scond of the game after a great ball from the right by Killian Brennan. O'Donnell must have got a touch as the referee has signaled for a corner to the home side.

31'

Some nice work by Jake Kelly down the left side resulted in his cross finding Chris Forrester who plays it to Fagan for the simplest of finishes but Martin Russell is likely to be wondering why Forrester was allowed turn in the box to get the pass away in the first place. It is hard to see UCD getting into this game as they have had no shots to show for their efforts!

31'

GOAL!

Christy Fagan scores for St. Patrick's Ath.

28'

Pats looking like they just cant figure out how to break this UCD defence down as Barry McCabe deflects a Forrestor shot out for a cork and then puts the resulting corner behing once again

24'

Neither side seem capable of stringing more than five passes together. Poor opening 25 minutes but then again last Tuesday Pats waited till the second half to score five!

20'

Bolger currently recieveing treatement but he does seem to be ok to continue for the time being. Looks like he was just winded during a collision with Dean Clarke in the middle of the park

18'

A shot from Fagan is well blocked by David O' Connor as Pats win their third corner in as many minutes but all have been comfortably cleared by the away sides rear guard

15'

It hasnt been the best opening 15 minutes I'v ever seen with neither side managing to regester a shot on target. The rain has also started to drizzle down here in Inchicore

9'

Chance! A great ball in from Gareth Matthews on the left flank saw David McMillian head just wide and straight after Conan Byrne fired just wide for Pats with the game starting to open up here

7'

Some great pressure being applied here by UCD as Benson and MCMillian are working their socks off to keep Pats in their own hald and it has worked with Pats kicking the ball out of play twice in the last two minutes

4'

UCD have just wasted a good oppurtunity on the break as Walsh fires well wide from 35 yards out when he had Benson in a good position to his right. Martin Russell is not to pleased in the UCD dugout

2'

First Chance of the game as Ger O' Brien makes a nice run down the wing but his cross is much too close to UCD's net minder Conor O'Donnell

1'

GAME ON!

The game between St. Patrick's Ath and U.C.D has kicked off.

0'

The reams are just after coming out. If this game finished level then it will go to a replay with that game scheduled for Tuesday 4th June in the UCD Bowl

0'

Both teams have just headed back to the dressing room now with the game due to kick off in just over five minutes. A smaller crowd than usual has assembled here for this FAI Ford Cup second round game. One man that is however in attendence is Cork City boss Tommy Dunne. The referree for todays clash is Rob Rogers.

0'

The teams should now have appeared along the sides of your screen. Both sides have made changes from last Tuesdays fixture. UCD have brought in Hugh Douglas and Thomas Boyle to replace Mark Langtry and James Kavanagh while Pats have made just the one change bringing in Jake Kelly for John Russell. Both sides are also expected to line up in a 4-5-1 formation

0'

Both teams are now out warming up. It is currently a dull day here in Inchicore but hopefully the rain will stay off for the duration of this game

0'

Hello and welcome to everyone from Richmond Park. We await team news here in this clash between Pats and UCD with the college hoping that they will be able to improve on their five goal defeat to Pats last Tuesday. KO is at 5pm. Feel free to send any questions you might have @gareth_oreilly
