Derry City vs Sligo Rovers

After their League Cup Final win last Saturday, and their triumph over Cork City on penalties on Tuesday, Derry City return to league action on Friday night when they host Sligo Rovers at the Brandywell.

Such success in cup competitions may have safeguarded Sligo from the financial problems they currently face, but nonetheless manager Paul Cook is determined to finish the season as strongly as possible, and still harbours a hope that they can clinch fourth place.

Derry on the other hand are well positioned to push St Patrick's Athletic for the runner up spot, but first they need to see off the challenge of Drogheda United in the race for third. The Candystripes are four points ahead of the Boynesiders, with a game less played.

Stephen Kenny will be without the services of centre back Peter Hutton (groin) and midfielder Ciaran Martyn (ankle). Niall McGinn and Stephen Gray both started against Cork, so seem to have fully recovered from their respective knocks. Kenny is expected to make a couple of changes to his starting eleven.

Chris Butler and Steve Feeney are injured for the visitors, while Dave McDaid and Pat Jennings wont feature due to the terms of their loan deals.
