Bohemians vs Bray Wanderers

by Finbarr O'Sullivan
Thu, Oct 02 2008

If results elsewhere go their way, Bohemians will seal their tenth league title if they overcome Bray Wanderers in Dalymount Park tomorrow night.

The Gypsies are in a great position for this match with Bohemians boss Pat Fenlon having a full squad to choose from. Conor Powell returns following suspension. John Paul Kelly is expected to be fit for the match. He had been ill.

Speaking ahead of tomorrow's match, Fenlon said: "Winning the league is not something that is in my head at the moment. I just want to win this game and what happens elsewhere is not my concern at the moment. If things go our way that's great but if not we will start preparing for our next match. Bray should probably have won on their last visit to Dalymount. A dubious penalty gave us the chance to equalise so we will be taking this game very seriously. Our squad is improved since that early season encounter and we just have to maintain the standards we have set during the campaign."

Bray Wanderers go into this game with one player out. Derek Pender misses out through suspension. Pender was sent off last week against Finn Harps for two bookable offences. Ronan Ivory will be available again after recovering from his pelvic injury.

Looking forward to Friday night’s match, Bray manager said: “I was very disappointed we didn’t win last Friday. I felt we deserved to win the game over the ninety minutes as we were the better teams.” He added: “I realise Bohemians can win the league title on Friday night but we are hoping to gate crash the party.”

Extratime.ie prediction: Bohs go into this match having won their last nine league games. They have conceded nine goals in the league all season. Bray are without a win in their last four games. They have only scored 16 goals in the league, only six of them coming away from home. Bohs are the clear favourites for this one. Bohs to win 3-0.

The match kicks off at 7.35pm. The referee will be Hugo Whoriskey. The match will also be shown live on RTÉ Two.
