Derry City sign striker Ibrahim Meite and midfielder Jake Dunwoody

Premier Division Derry City have unveiled the double signing of Ibrahim Meite and Jake Dunwoody.

Meite joins the Candystripes following a recent stint with Crawley Town, while Dunwoody links up with Declan Devine’s side after a recent spell with Stoke City.

Meite started his career with Cardiff City but moved to Crawley following his release from the Bluebirds and has spent the last two years there, operating either on the wing or up front.

“Ibrahim was signed by Neil Warnock for Cardiff City,” Declan Devine told his club’s media team. “He’s very strong, very direct, exactly what we need. Somebody to lead the line.”

On the other hand, Dunwoody joins having impressed with the Northern Ireland under-21s previously.

“I spoke to Ian Baraclough about Jake,” Devine added. I’ve known him for a while in the NI setup. He’s quality, really looking forward to seeing him playing.

“Baraclough thinks it’s a great idea for him to play at that standard with Derry City. He gives us great options in the middle of the park.”
