Galway United launch new online store as league shutdown hits revenue

Galway United have launched a new online store as the club seeks to fill the financial gap created by the coronavirus shutdown.

The latest kits and clubwear, as well as match and season tickets for when the football does return later this year, is available for order via the club’s official website.

2020 club jerseys retail at €60 apiece for adults and €45 for children, while a range of training tops and casual wear is available from €40.

Fans can also purchase programmes from each of the games played so far this season for €4 a pop, while hats and caps start from €12.

“Galway United, like many other sporting organisations across the country, are experiencing a difficult period without any matchday revenue,” read a club statement.

“Both of our scheduled home games against Athlone Town and Cabinteely were cancelled, leaving the club with a large shortfall.

“The best way to support the club directly is by purchasing items on our online shop and also renewing your Season Ticket for 2020, if you haven’t already.

“There will also be an option for supporters to purchase Flexi tickets online soon. These tickets will be eligible for any home game when the season resumes.”
