Shamrock Rovers members approve investment proposal from Dermot Desmond

Shamrock Rovers members have unanimously approved an investment proposal by Dermot Desmond to become a shareholder in the club.

A vote was put in front of the club’s members on Saturday afternoon – in a motion that was passed in resound fashion by the club’s members.

“Shamrock Rovers Members today voted in favour of accepting an investment proposal by Dermot Desmond to become a shareholder in Shamrock Rovers F.C,” a statement from the club read.

“Club members gathered at the 2019 AGM in Tallaght Stadium today where the proposal recommended by the Members’ Board was put to the membership.

“There was an overwhelming vote in support of the proposal which, subject to final sign off by all parties will see Dermot Desmond become a 25% shareholder in Shamrock Rovers FC Ltd.”

As of October’s meeting with the club’s members, Desmond’s plans were outlined, where it was indicated that he wished to ‘advance the cause of Shamrock Rovers’.

And they have since been approved by the Hoops members, with the 69-year-old becoming a 25% shareholder in the club.
