Shane Daly-Butz departs Cork City

Premier Division Cork City have confirmed that Shane Daly-Bütz has departed the club.

Daly-Bütz joined the Leesiders last July after a stint with Munster Senior League side UCC having also been a member of the club’s under-19 squad previously.

The Irish Colleges and Universities International leaves the club after his contract was mutually terminated due to a lack of game time.

While playing in the senior team, the 22-year-old midfielder made seven appearances during the latter part of the of the 2018 campaign before committing to the 2019 cause.

However, the defender has found game-time hard to come by this year with only one appearance coming in the EA Sports Cup.

Speaking on his midfielder’s departure City interim first team manager John Cotter said: “Everyone would like to thank Shane for his contribution to the club during his time here.

“Shane is a good lad and he has worked hard, but has found his opportunities limited, so we discussed it and agreed that he would move on and look for more regular game time elsewhere.

“We wish him the best of luck in the forthcoming World University Games and for the future.”
