Watch: Ireland captain Katie McCabe's spectacular strike as Arsenal keep up pressure on leaders Man City

Republic of Ireland captain Katie McCabe scored a spectacular third goal in Arsenal’s 3-0 Women’s Super League win over Reading on Sunday.

McCabe fired a 20-yard effort into the top corner past Republic of Ireland teammate Grace Moloney to wrap up a comfortable lead for the second-placed Gunners.

Arsenal had taken the lead after two minutes as Vivianne Miedema set a new WSL record by scoring her 16th goal of the season.

The Gunners doubled their lead in the 80th minute from the penalty spot, Kim Little converting after Danielle van de Donk was fouled in the box by Jade Moore.

Former Shelbourne winger McCabe’s strike sealed the win for Joe Montemurro’s side, who now sit second in the table, a point behind leaders Manchester City, who have played one more game.

The title race could go down to the final day of the season in May when Arsenal host the Citizens with the possibility of claiming their first league title since 2012.
