Relegated Bray Wanderers make statement of intent with capture of Keegan and Daly from Waterford

Relegated Bray Wanderers have made a major statement of intent for next season’s First Division with the signing of Paul Keegan and Derek Daly from Waterford.

Former Shamrock Rovers defender Sean Heaney also re-signs for the Seagulls, having impressed in spite of last season’s relegation to the second tier.

Heaney, previously of Shelbourne, Waterford and St Kevin’s, established himself as a major force in Bray’s side last term with 31 appearances as the Quinsborough Road outfit finally saw their long stay in the top tier end.

Also joining forces with the Seagulls is former Doncaster Rovers midfield general Keegan, who joins having impressed in his 18-month spell at the RSC as he added a First Division title to his honours list.

Now 34, Keegan has proved that he can still be a major addition to any side and his signature will be a major boost towards the Seagulls’ promotion ambitions for 2019.

Winger Daly, 21, makes the move having struggled to gain a place in Waterford’s starting eleven last term after impressing in the Blues’ First Division title win of 2017.

The former Irish under-16 international will surely prove to be a potent threat down the flanks for Gary Cronin’s side of 2019 should he replicate his 2017 form.
