Elite Round draw made for Women's U19 & U17 teams

Republic of Ireland U19 to face holder Spain in Elite Round

The Republic of Ireland Women’s U19 team, having topped their qualifying group with three wins out of three, will now face holders (and group hosts) Spain, Hungary and Serbia in the Elite Round of the UEFA European Championships.

The draw, conducted by UEFA Women's Football Committee chairwoman Anne Rei and Kerstin Casparij, sees Ireland in Group 4.

Northern Ireland, in Group 5, will face Norway (hosts), Denmark and the Ukraine.

All group games will take place between the 3nd and 9th April with the winners of each group progressing to the finals in Scotland, which will be staged from July 16-28. Importantly the finals will also act as UEFA's qualifier for the 2020 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.

The draws for the 2019/20 Qualifying Round were also made with the WU19s facing Montenegro, Netherlands, and Ukraine with the games being played in the Netherlands in October 2019.

Republic of Ireland U17 drawn against Germany

The Women’s U17 team, who finished second in their qualifying group, will now face Norway (hosts), Germany and Scotland in April. Once again the group winners will progress to the finals in Bulgaria.

Northern Ireland will travel to Portugal having been drawn in Group 5 and will face the host country, Czech Republic and France.

The 2019/20 Qualifying Round was also made as Republic of Ireland U17s head for Lithuania in September 2019 for their games against Albania, Greece, and Lithuania.
