Kevin O'Connor joins Crewe Alexandra on loan from Preston North End

Former Cork City defender Kevin O'Connor has joined English League Two side Crewe Alexandra on loan from Preston North End until the 7^th of January.

The 23-year-old joined Preston from City alongside teammate Sean Maguire last summer but has struggled for regular gametime at Deepdale.

Versatile full-back O'Connor made one league appearance for the Lilywhites last season, making eight appearances in total before joining Fleetwood Town on loan in December.

The Wexford native began his career with Waterford before joining Cork City early in the 2015 season and quickly established himself as a mainstay in John Caulfield's side.

He made four appearances for Ireland under-21s during the unsuccessful qualifying campaign for the 2017 European Championships.
