Cork City will face the loser of the tie between Macedonian champions Shkendija and Red Bull Salzburg – should they find a way past Rosenborg in their Europa League qualifier.

The Rebel Army face the Norwegian champions at Turner's Cross on Thursday before meeting again in the second leg at the Lerkendal Stadion in Trondheim seven days later.

Rosenborg go into the game heavy favourites after narrowly losing out to Celtic in their Champions League qualifier last time out.

And the most successful Norwegian club in history are familiar visitors to these shores, having edged out Dundalk in last year's Champions League qualifiers after extra time in Trondheim.

The restructure of the Champions League this year means every side is afforded an opportunity to qualify for the Europa League should they fail to reach the Champions League groups.

City received a bye after they dropped down following their Champions League defeat to Legia Warsaw, and victory over Rosenborg will leave them within a round of the group stages.
