Peamount United beat UCD to set up WNL Cup final date with Wexford Youths

The top two in last season's Women's National League will meet in the final of the WNL Cup after Peamount United joined Wexford Youths in winning their semi-finals.

Goals from Niamh Farrelly, Amber Barrett and Aine O'Gorman saw the Peas to a comfortable 3-0 win over UCD Waves, and their second successive WNL Cup final, on Sunday afternoon.

Last season's beaten finalists led from the third minute following Ireland under-19 international Farrelly's spectacular volley.

Barrett added a second midway through the second half before 100-cap international O'Gorman wrapped up the win eight minutes from time.

Wexford had already secured their spot in the final thanks to a closely-fought 2-1 win over Galway at Ferrycarrig Park on Saturday evening.

Katrina Parrock had given the home side the lead before an own goal levelled things up, but Emma Hansberry's stunning strike from distance was enough to see the league champions home.

The final will take place at a location to be determined on the weekend ending September 16th.
