Midfielder Philly Gannon leaves Bohemians by mutual consent

Premier Division strugglers Bohemians have confirmed that midfielder Phillip Gannon has departed the club by mutual consent after an 18-month spell at Dalymount Park.

The 21-year-old West Bromwich Albion academy graduate departs the Gypsies having made 29 appearances for the club after arriving from Longford Town in 2017.

The Finglas native played a pivotal role in anchoring the midfield at the age-old Phibsborough venue and leaves with one competitive goal to his name, against Finn Harps on the final day of the 2017 season.

“I’d like to thank Philly for his 18 months at the club,” said Gypsies boss Keith Long.

“He’s worked extremely hard but he’s at the stage where he needs and wants to be playing regular first-team football.

“He is a good professional and we wish him all the best for the future.”

Gannon’s last appearance for Bohemians came in a one-all draw against fellow relegation strugglers Limerick FC on June 1st.
