Cork City will face the loser of Scottish giants Celtic and Norwegian champions Rosenborg in the third qualifying round of the Europa League.

The Rebel Army received a bye in the second round after dropping down from the Champions League following their 4-0 aggregate defeat to Legia Warsaw.

That means they’ll have to wait another two weeks to learn which of the two seeded sides will drop down from Europe’s top competition.

Celtic will face Rosenborg at Parkhead on Wednesday before travelling to Trondheim for the return leg on August 1st, with the loser guaranted the fall-back of a Europa League qualifier.

Among the other potential opponents include Crvena Zvezda – commonly known as Red Star – who beat City in the qualifying rounds the last time they won the league in 2005.
