Continental Tyres WNL Player of the Month nominees for June announced

The nominees for the Continental Tyres Women’s National League Player of the Month for June have been announced with the winner to be announced later this week.

Rianna Jarrett of Wexford Youths, Shelbourne’s Roma McLoughlin and UCD Waves goalkeeper Erica Turner are all in contention for the award.

This is Jarrett’s third nomination for the award this season. Wexford recorded back to back victories over Limerick and title rivals Peamount United in June, and Jarrett made a huge contribution to those wins. The forward struck twice against Peamount and scored a hat-trick against Limerick to secure another nomination for the player of the month award.

McLoughlin returned from injury and helped Shels keep their title hopes alive with a win over Galway WFC. The midfielder opened the scoring against The Tribeswomen after showing off a skilful first touch to take the ball away from the defender before slotting the ball into the net.

Turner has nailed down the number one spot at UCD Waves this season and the Republic of Ireland Under-19 international goalkeeper was in fine form producing several fine saves in draws with Cork City and Limerick.
