Goalkeeper Micheál Schlingermann leaves Sligo Rovers by mutual consent

Sligo Rovers have announced that goalkeeper Micheál Schlingermann has left the club with immediate effect by mutual consent.

He leaves the Showgrounds having made 54 appearances for the Bit o' Red but, having recovered from a neck injury, has found his path blocked by Chelsea loanee Mitchell Beeney.

Sligo Rovers chairman Martin Heraghty said: “We would like to thank Micheál for his service at the club.”

“Micheál has been a big part of the club since signing in 2016 and has been a great ambassador for the club. We wish him well in the future."

Schlingermann tweeted: "Sometimes things just don't work out!”

"Thanks to all of those who've stood by me and kept faith! I've always given everything I have in me and won't change now. Best of luck to this great Club and it's supporters in the future!!"
