James McClean named Ireland POTY at CRISC Awards

James McClean has been named Ireland Senior men’s Player of the Year at the inaugural CRISC Awards and dinner in Dublin. 

McClean who had a fabulous year for his country including an emotional late winner against Wales that sealed Ireland’s playoff spot and adds this to his Irish Sports personality of the year award that he won earlier this year. 

The Creggan man was one of Ireland's stand-out performers during the failed World Cup qualifying campaign as they fell short against Denmark in the playoff round. 

McClean is expected to start the match tonight at the Aviva Stadium with the USA in John O’Shea’s final appearance for the boys in green.
