Everton striker Lavery called up to Northern Ireland squad for Central American tour

Midfielder Jordan Thompson and Everton striker Shayne Lavery have been called up to the senior Northern Ireland men’s international squad for the tour to Panama and Costa Rica.

They replace Cameron McGeehan, who misses the trip with an ankle injury, and Oliver Norwood, who is involved in the Championship playoff final with Fulham at Wembley on Saturday evening.

Lavery, who has been involved in the Toffees first team this season, was included in Michael O’Neill’s panel for the friendly against South Korea in March but was an unused substitute.

Thompson helped Livingston win promotion to the Scottish Premiership last season but is looking for a new club following his release form Rangers.

The Green and White army take on Panama in Panama City on Tuesday May 29th before travelling to San Jose to play Costa Rica on the 3rd of June.
