Ireland under-21 winger Jake Mulraney joins Hearts

Republic of Ireland under-21 winger Jake Mulraney has joined Scottish Premier League side Heart of Midlothian from Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

The Dubliner has signed a two-year deal after the clubs agreed a swap deal, with Hearts midfielder Angus Beith going in the opposite direction.

22-year-old Mulraney has impressed in his two years at the Highlands club and, despite suffering relegation in 2017, he continued to shine in the Caley Jags' unsuccessful promotion bid.

He was part of the side that lifted the Irn Bru Cup this season, beating Dumbarton 1-0 in the final.

The tricky winger came through the ranks with Nottingham Forest before signing terms with Queens Park Rangers in 2014.

After spells on loan with Dagenham & Redbridge and Stevenage, he made the switch to Inverness in the summer of 2016, where he linked up with fellow Dubliner Richie Foran.

Mulraney has made four appearances for the Republic of Ireland under-21s, all of them in the current European Championships qualifying campaign, scoring once in a 2-1 defeat in Norway.
