Watch: Wes Hoolahan scores wonderful solo goal in his Carrow Road farewell for Norwich City

Wes Hoolahan signed off with a spectacular goal, an assist and a win as he played his final game at Carrow Road in a Norwich City shirt on Saturday afternoon.

Hoolahan last week signalled his intention to leave the East Anglia club at the end of his tenth season – with another Championship club the 36-year-old's likely destination.

The former Shelbourne playmaker was given a guard of honour by both teams before Norwich's penultimate league game against Leeds United.

Norwich went behind to an early Kalvin Philips goal, but Hoolahan rolled back the years with an audacious solo finish to tie things up before the break.

The Dubliner picked up the ball in his own half and found space for a shot that looped up off the heel of Pontus Jansson and hit both posts before nestling in the net.

Hoolahan then laid on the winner for Josh Murphy after the break before being substituted in the 85th minute to take the applause of the Carrow Road faithful for the final time.

"Wes (Hoolahan) is outstanding,” Norwich manager Daniel Farke said in his post-match press conference.

“Off the pitch he is outstanding too. It was well-deserved. I'm pleased for him. It's always difficult after an emotional week but for him it was a perfect finish."
