Watch: Ex-Cork duo Maguire and Browne on target in Preston win

Sean Maguire hit double figures and Alan Browne netted his fifth league goal of the season as Preston North End were comfortable 3-1 winners over Leeds United.

The former Cork City duo have been vital to Preston's unexpected tilt to reach the play-offs this season – a bid that looks unlikely as they sit five points and five places back with four to play.

Maguire – who missed three months of the season with a hamstring injury – has been a revelation up front while Browne's consistent performances have seen both get international recognition.

And they scored the Lilywhites' second and third goals on their way to a win that keeps them, at least mathematically, in the hunt for the final play-off spot.

Leeds – who had ex-Limerick defender Paudie O'Connor in their line-up – took the lead before Paul Gallagher equalised for Preston.

Gallagher turned creator for Maguire, crossing from the right towards the near post, where Maguire was able to beat the goalkeeper to the ball and head home.

And Browne sealed the three points with a header of his own after he broke from deep to nod in Irish-eligible Callum Robinson's ball in.
