Finn Harps v Galway United postponement due to waterlogged pitch

Finn Harps' First Division clash with Galway United, due to take place on Friday night, has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

It's the fourth time this season Harps have seen a game called off due to circumstances beyond their control.

A statement on the club's Twitter account read: "Tonight's #SSEAirtricityLeague match against @GalwayUnitedFC has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. A new date for the fixture will be announced in due course."

They travelled to Drogheda United on the opening day only for a floodlight issue to force postponement. The game was subsequently played last month, with Drogheda winning 2-1.

Their second league game, at home to Longford Town, was postponed due to the snow while their EA Sports Cup meeting with the Mayo League was also rained off.

Galway have also seen the weather force the postponement of games, and they're yet to replay their away fixture with Cobh Ramblers from early March.

As of the time of writing, the seven remaining League of Ireland games scheduled for Friday are due to go ahead as planned.
