Watch: Shamrock Rovers youngsters scores wonderful solo goal for Ireland U15s

Shamrock Rovers prospect Sami Clarke showed why many at the club are excited about his potential with a wonderful solo goal for Ireland under-15s during Tuesday’s draw with the Czech Republic.

Ireland fell behind early on but equalised midway through the first half when 14-year-old Clarke took dazzled with a singular display of close control and finishing at the FAI National Training Centre.

There were echoes of Seamus Coleman’s first international goal against Georgia last year in the way Clarke came in from a wide position and skipped past three challenges before finishing well.

Cork City’s Oran Crowe put Ireland in front on the stroke of half time but the Czechs scored again as Filip Urica levelled on the hour to leave the scores at 2-2.

The teams meet again at St Kevin’s Boys ground in Whitehall on Thursday afternoon (kick-off 1.30pm).
