Watch: Shaun Donnellan nets late, late goal to keep Ireland's U21 Euros hopes on track

The Republic of Ireland's hopes for automatic qualification to next year's under-21 European Championships remain on track – just- after Shaun Donnellan's late, late winner against Azerbaijan on Tuesday night.

The Yeovil Town centre-half was in the right place at the right time to head into an empty net deep into second-half injury time to secure Noel King's side a priceless three points and leave them three points behind leaders Germany with a game in hand.

It looked as if it wasn't to be Ireland's day as they huffed and puffed against a disciplined and well-organised Azeri side as the excellent Donnellan had two headers cleared off the line and Jake Mulraney was denied a certain penalty.

Keep an eye on the reaction of free-kick taker Ryan Manning after Ronan Hale's initial effort had been saved by goalkeeper Kamran Ibrahimov before his elation when the ball is bundled over the line.
